Virgin River is a fictitious town set in the redwood forests of northern California. This year was the second time that Robyn met with the “Jack’s Bar” gals at RWA. Readers became so enamored with the series that they launched their own site called “Jack’s Bar”, a local watering hole for Marines who have made Virgin River their home. I cannot wait to return to Sullivan’s Crossing.Robyn Carr really broke out with her Virgin River series. She seamlessly shed light on these darker subjects while delivering a feel-good romance.ĪNY DAY NOW was delightful from beginning to end.

Carr did an excellent job with character development, bringing to light addiction and showing how woman become trapped. It allowed Sierra to grow, become confident and faces down her fears. The suspense thread offered some nail biting moments and a family reunion. We catch up with them as they work on renovating their barn. Side threads included a developing romance between two single parents, a strange woman who lies, and updates on characters we have previously met. Their developing relationship felt genuine and provided moments of humor and swoons. It was nice to have an honest to goodness good guy for a hero. While Sierra isn’t ready to handle a relationship and doesn’t trust her own feelings, Conrad soon shows her there are good people out there. Sierra finds work and for the first time cares for something. I adore Sully and the way he gets involved. As Sierra settles in she soon finds herself building ties within the community and her friendship blossoms with Sully. The heart of the story, however, was Sierra and it had me flipping the pages hoping for an HEA. Not wanting to crowd the newlyweds, she checks into a hostel but soon finds herself in one of the cabins at Sully’s.ĪNY DAY NOW felt like coming home and visiting old friends.

We learn she is on the road to recovery both from addiction and a troubled past that has left her scarred. I quickly connected with Sierra and admired her strength. She’s trying to rebuild her life and has come to Colorado. Not since the Virgin River series have I enjoyed one of her books this much.Ĭarr shares Sierra Jones’ story and introduces us to more locals, in particular, a hot Firefighter/EMT named Conrad, but folks call him “Connie.” Sierra is Cal’s younger sister. Carr hit it out of the park with the romance, local happens and suspenseful plot. In ANY DAY NOW by Robyn Carr, we are back at Sullivan’s Crossing and camping season is just beginning.
